If you believe something on Kova infringes your copyright, send us a notice and we'll review it.

Sending a notice

Email the team that runs this site with:

  • The copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
  • A link to the content on Kova.
  • Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

If the notice is complete, we remove or disable access to the content and let the person who posted it know.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address with:

  • The content that was removed and where it appeared.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, mailing address, and phone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where kova may be found), and that you’ll accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat infringement

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others’ copyrights.
